Thank you so much for this video. I just became a single mom and I needed to adjust my son's brakes. I was able to do it just fine with your help. Thank you very much!

Hi Alex,

I would like to inform people of a item that can make setting up Vee Brakes much faster and simpler now thanks to a very good tool called the Tacx Brake Shoe Tuner.

I know if you do a search on the net you may find more companies that will sell the devise here is the link for the UK to make Vee brake setting up much simpler for every one: http://www.dotbike.com/ProductsP817.aspx?TRACK%3dDFR

You can find some tips on truing the wheel on your bike in this video, but you'll still need a spoke wrench. Also listed on that page are some other resources for truing wheels, including some ideas on how to make your own truing stand.

I am very frustrated. My wheel is off center too much to the left, so it is impossible to align the break arms, which is really really hurting the break pads, without slowing down my bike when used. How can I center my wheels? I only have very basic tools because v-brakes are as far as I have gone in self-help bike repair. No lubricants, cable pullers, spoke wrenches, bike stand, wheel truing stand, or any of the other just-for-bike tools you showed in your Basic Bike Repair Tools tutorial. What do you have to do to get the wheel in the middle? I have to get it into the middle because the break arms are screwed onto my bike frame and I can't adjust them for a wobbly wheel... Maybe you should do a tutorial on wheel centering.

That tutorial was great thanks. I love to ride my bike but I'm not very technical and couldn't afford to get it repaired so this is perfect.

Great videos, all. I would like to see some done on disc brakes -- adjustment -- hydraulic -- cable pull -- bleeding, etc. Anything in the works for some tutorials over this area?

Keep up the excellent work.

I don't think steel wool would work at all on your brake pads (it's not tough enough)... but sandpaper works great!
