Great job on the chain break video. I wish more information available on the web, and even from manufacturers, was this well done.

Fantastic tutorials. If the pin does accidentally pop out, I found drying any lube off, and putting a tiny bit of putty on the end of the tool bit helps hold the pin in line for re-insertion. Fiddly, but possible. Cheers!

To above people that drove the pin completely out. I successfully put a pin back into a chain by a method NOT recommended. Using a ball pean hammer, pair of needle nose pliers, and a vise (or hard flat piece of steel) align the link as it would be put together with the bottom of it on the steel flat. Take the pin and put it into the needle nose pliers, position it directly above the link hole of where it came out. Hold the pin firmly against the hole and tap it with the hammer. Eventually it will go into the hole. After you have the pin in enough you should use Alex's method to complete getting the link back together. NOW as I said this was a method I used to TEMPORARILY fix the chain until my new one came in. The chain I used it on was older pin style. As far as the newer ones can't say this would work.

That was the best lesson I've ever seen on breaking a chain. I wish I'd have seen this when I split my chain for the first time a few years back. I always used to push the pin all the way through and wondered how you were supposed to get it back in again. I spent hours trying to line the pin up with the hole, then try to push it back in. Sounds funny now but at the time it was very frustrating. great video thanks for taking the time to make it.

After a few minutes wasted on "youtube" I remembered your site; much more friendly and simpler to follow.

I had broken the chain, but forgotten the little trick of keeping the pin within. At last have successfully used my chain tool to make a chain-within-inner tube security link for my saddle.

I do live in London's famous London which is why this is required.

Thanks again, very useful.

I've watched several of your videos (even bought some of the items you suggest) and wish to thank you for these excellent videos. I don't have any excess funds at the moment but would love to contribute if possible when I do. Is there a way?
