What about maintenance schedule? Things that should be done monthly or yearly.

I’d be interested in a maintenance schedule. I personally grease every week because I use my bike for commuting and degrease about once every six but I have little knowledge of when or how to service my bike as a whole if that makes sense, i.e. when do you check or replace brake or gear cables and what to look for. Last thing you want is to brake cable going at the last minute.

    Hi Alex,

I have a Trek 4500 mountain bike which I use almost every day, for on and off road riding. The Trek bike manual has a maintenance schedule guideline but I would be interested to see your recommendations for maintenance schedule for a bike that gets used on a daily basis.

Excellent website, have learned a lot from your video tutorials so far.

    Cheers
    James.
